Five model Funeral Ceremonies in Dally Messenger's Book "Ceremonies and Celebrations"
Funerals: Do it yourself book
Now we do not advise people to do a funeral themselves. There are a few traps, and, in the opinion of the writer, the skill-set of a good celebrant is obviously preferable. However, if this is the path you wish to take then why not get a few clues from a book that is simple, straight and clear. It is also the most recommended book by Funeral Directors to people such as yourself. It is also recommended by many clergypersons who for some reason or another do not feel appropriate to officiate at a funeral and wish their "clients" to create their own ceremony.
Dally Messenger's Ceremonies and Celebrations (4th Edition) published by Hachette Livre contains five full example funeral ceremonies. (Chapters 10, 11, and 12.) It also contains helpful suggestions and a range of excellent readings and quotes.
It is available in hard copy from the Celebrants Centre (1300 446 786) and as an eBook from Amazon/Kindle and iBooks.
Example full funeral ceremonies include:
- For a 90 year old man.
- For a 70 year old man with Buddhist beliefs
- For a 23 year old girl who committed suicide
- For a young 12 year old girl killed in a traffic accident
- For a new born baby who died suddenly.
Plus many other options, variations, poetry, and quotations.
